I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Ljubljana, where I focus on contemporary publishing, with particular emphasis on the impact of artificial intelligence on editorial processes, translation, and authorship. My research explores the evolving dynamics of the global book market, especially the circulation of translated literature and the role of emerging technologies in shaping publishing practices.
I am a co-author of the forthcoming Books in Translation: Trends and Transformations in the European Publishing Market, developed within the international ThinkPub project and supported by the Creative Europe programme. The report brings together current data and insights on translation flows and will be presented to professional audiences at major international events.
My work is regularly presented at international conferences, symposia, and book fairs, where I contribute to discussions on AI in publishing, translation markets, and the future of reading and book promotion. I have participated in events such as the Frankfurt Book Fair, Thinking Literature in Translation and various academic forums focused on publishing studies and translation.
Before moving into academia, I worked in the publishing industry at Mladinska knjiga, Slovenia’s largest publishing house, specializing in foreign rights sales and acquisition. This experience continues to inform my research, allowing me to connect theoretical perspectives with real-world publishing practices. During my postgraduate studies, I also worked as a book reviewer for Bukla magazine, further deepening my understanding of the literary scene.
I am particularly interested in the intersection of research and practice, and in understanding how technological innovation is reshaping the creation, distribution, and global exchange of books.
